Friday morning's presentation (9:00a.m. - 12:00 or 12:30 p.m.) by Thomas includes videos and on-carriage demonstrations. Topics will include:

  • Balancing the carriage
  • Rules affecting grooms and navigators
  • Preparing for problems
  • Troubleshooting
  • Calculating split times for sections A & E (if time allows)

Friday afternoon (1:00 or 1:30 p.m. until done--about 4:00 p.m.) will give participants a chance to try out the back step. Attendees may choose to audit and observe, rather than getting experience on board, or participate and have time on the step.

  • Saturday Driver/Navigator teams (both must have participated or at least audited Friday) will use their own turnout to participate in semi-private lessons from 9:00 a.m. until noon. We will schedule two or three turnouts per session so you can gain experience driving hazards, get feedback, give your horses a breather while you watch others drive the hazard, then drive again.

Lunch is provided on Friday, concession lunches are available on Saturday.

    Fees: $50 (US) Friday participant
              $40 (US) Friday auditor
$40 (US) Saturday semi-private lesson (per turnout)
Stall Fee: $50 (US) Thursday noon through Saturday 6:00 p.m.
$20 for Thursday night as an additional night if doing the CDE Schooling Weekend. Please clean prior to leaving.
Refunds: Full refund if notified in time to fill from waiting list.
    Medical Armbands: $10 each
    NSF Check Fee: $40

    NOTES:
