| The Carriage Association of America has developed a Driver Proficiency Program based on the British
Driving Society's Driver Competency Program. The goal is to promote the sport of driving
based on safety and education. The first evaluations in North America were held during The National Drive
at the Kentucky Horse Park in October of 2008.
Happ's is pleased to have helped bring the evaluations to the West Coast in 2009. Our drivers were among the first in North
America to receive Certificates of Proficiency.
We are offering CAA Driver Proficiency Evaluations again in April 2010.
April 23-25, 2010 CAA Evaluations ~ Level I and starting Level II Marsoe LaRose, Evaluator:
Friday afternoon, Saturday (evaluations scheduled around the TREC) and Sunday
Simon Rosenman may do an optional CAA Evaluation Orientation Friday evening for those who
wish to participate. We will know later when we see how the numbers work out. It is meant to explain the program, how to
prepare for the evaluator and generally take away any stress or anxiety you may have. It is free and is not a compulsory requirement, but
attendees have found it helpful and felt it helped make the Evaluation an enjoyable and positive
experience since they knew what to expect.
Send your application and payment made out to CAA to us along with a check to Happ's
for $75 per Level for our costs in hosting the evaluations. We will do the sceduling, etc. and upon completion CAA will send you your certificate and pin.
